An all-girl rock band made up of teens from Downers Grove, Elmhurst and Carol Stream will perform this weekend as part of Reverbnation’s “Women in Rock” Battle of the Bands.
The local band, Bloody Mary, will perform at MoJoe’s in Joliet on Feb. 23. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 5:30 p.m., according to MoJoe's website.
Advance tickets are available for $10 from the band or can be purchased at the door, according to a Bloody Mary Band press release.
The winner of this weekend's competition will open for Chicago stop of Revolver Magazine’s Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock Tour on March 1 at MoJoe’s in Joliet, which will feature Sick Puppies, Lacuna Coil, Eyes to Kill, and Cilver.
"Only five female fronted bands in the Chicago area were chosen to participate in this event," according to the news release. "This tour is the world’s first and only heavy metal and hard rock tour featuring today’s hottest female-driven artists."
ABOUT BLOODY MARY
Bloody Mary is an all-girl teen rock band that has been performing in the Chicago and surrounding Midwest area since 2010.
"This group of high-energy performers is known for their unique sound and impressive array of original music and covers," according to the news release.
Bloody Mary released their first CD entitled “Coming of Age” on the Dark Star Records/Sony label in February 2013 and is at work on an EP, which is scheduled for a late 2014 release.
