Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra Presents Golden Jubilee Season Finale May 14

As a fitting culmination to its stellar Golden Jubilee season, the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra will present Franz Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece, The Creation, at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 155 Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst.  One of the greatest musical works of all time, The Creation brims with vivid orchestral colors, sublime choruses, and fabulous solo arias.  From its groundbreaking overture to its joyous final chorus, Haydn’s incomparable imagination delivers one of the most enjoyable offerings in all of music.  The ESO and Music Director Stephen Alltop will be joined by soloists Sarah Lawrence, Calland Metts, and Daniel Eifert, the Elmhurst College Choir, the Elmhurst Choral Union, and the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church Choir to celebrate the conclusion of an outstanding 50th anniversary season.

Concertgoers are invited to learn more about the music at a free concert preview with Ted Hatmaker at 5:45 p.m. in the upper level Gathering Room of the church.  Concert doors and the box office open at 6:15.  Parking is free, and the church is handicapped-accessible.
