Drummer Matt Wilson Appears at Jazz Festival

The headliner of the second night of the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival is Matt Wilson, of Matt Wilson’s Arts & Crafts, is one of the most inventive and individualistic drummers in modern music. He has been named DownBeat’s “rising star”; “Best New Artist” by the New York Jazz Critics Circle; winner of the 2004 Modern Drummers reader’s poll; and nominated as 2004 and 2006 “Jazz Drummer of the Year” by the Jazz Journalists Association. Arts & Crafts includes keyboardist Larry Goldings, trumpeter Terrell Stafford, and bassist Dennis Irwin.
