David Parker Art Exhibit

“Hearts and Minds,” an exhibition by Chicago-based artist David Parker, will be presented by Elmhurst College through March 19. The featured piece titled “Heartbeat Carillon” is an interactive sound installation designed to allow participants to reconsider their lives and relations with others. It is activated by touch and receive instantaneous heartbeat readings that send energy pulses into bells, which chime until a participant releases her grip. As more people touch the sensors, the resulting sound is a “concert of hearts.”
