All Elmhurst Museums are Free on Museum Day May 20

Elmhurst’s four museums invite the community to visit on Sunday, May 20, to celebrate International Museum Day. The Elmhurst Art Museum, Elmhurst Historical Museum, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, and Theatre Historical Society of America will be open free to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. with special activities and exhibit tours for visitors of all ages. Admission at each location is free.

The 16th annual Museum Day is part of an international event designed to remind the public of the value museums bring to the community as an important means of education, cultural exchange and development of mutual understanding and cooperation among people. Elmhurst Museum Day is particularly special with four very different museums located within close proximity in central Elmhurst.

A complimentary trolley will run every 20 minutes between the museums to transport visitors to each location. Participants who get stamps at all four museums can qualify for a prize drawing that includes Classic Cinemas gift cards, passes to The Hub miniature golf facility, Elmhurst City Centre gift certificate, museum tee shirts and more.
