A Night of Blues Fund-raiser

A group of students from Churchville Middle School have formed a band, Traxx, and have been working hard in preparation for their performance alongside several Chicago blues musicians at a fund-raiser Saturday night.

The event, Blues: Keeping the Blues Alive, supports The Blues Kids Foundation (www.blueskids.com), an artist in residency music program.

Tickets will be available at the door for what promises to be an entertaining night, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Knights of Columbus.

At Blues Camp, more than 120 Blues Kids (ages 12-18), who have been awarded scholarships to attend this fun-filled experience, learn and perform in a fully funded, weeklong program with other, like-minded students under the tutelage of national and international instructors.

If you’d enjoy a night of watching blues masters and blues newcomers while supporting the blues for our younger generation, please come Saturday night.

Ticket price includes entertainment, dinner and dancing. Cash bar, raffles, split-the-pot and silent auction items will also be available for purchase.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for kids.

In addition to West Suburban Blues Kids Camp attendees, Traxx, performances will include Fernando Jones, Blues Kids founder, and Jackie Scott, who is scheduled to perform at Chicago Blues Fest this year, along with a few surprises.
