NBC's 'The Sing Off' Boots Elmhurst Performer and His Group, The Filharmonics

They didn't win $100,000 and a recording contract, but they came about as close as you can get and had fun in the process. Check out these videos, then scroll down to read more.

It was a fun road to the finals for a capella band, The Filharmonics, on the NBC show, The Sing Off. But all good things must end, and that's what happened Wednesday, Dec. 18, when the Filharmonics were eliminated from the competition in the sixth episode. They lost to the group Ten, who will go on to the final round on Monday, Dec. 23.

Why do we care? Because one of the members of the Filharmonics, "Baby Face" Trace Gaynor, is a graduate of York High School in Elmhurst. He currently is a University of Southern California student majoring in broadcast and digital journalism.

You can check out the final performance of The Filharmonics on The Sing Off in the clip above—but something tells us it's far from their final performance ever.
