York's First Home Game Tonight is a Great Way to Start the Holiday Weekend

2. WHITE PARTY
When/Where:
9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday night, 119 N. York Road
Why Go: Kick off Labor Day weekend with live music by One More Song. Make sure to dress from head to toe in white. Prizes will be awarded for the best outfits.

3. HOW ABOUT 9 HOLES OF GOLF?
When/Where:
 Dawn until 8 p.m., 500 E. Van Buren, Villa Park
Why Go: Run by the village of Villa Park and the Elmhurst Park District, this is a perfect destination for the Labor Day weekend.
Cost: $17 for residents, $19 for nonresidents for nine holes

4. OAK BROOK HALF-MARATHON
When/Where:
7 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, starts at Kensington and Jorie Blvd., Oak Brook
Why Go: This Labor Day classic offers a scenic and challenging course to help you "tune-up" for your fall marathon, or to simply enjoy as your long-distance running event. Dri-fit shirts and finishers medals to all, and awards to top 3 age-group finishers. Call (708) 386-4660 or register online.

5. FINE ART EXHIBITION AT THE MALL
When/Where:
 
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Oakbrook Center Mall

The  features original work in various media including photography, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, pencil, oil, sculpture, mixed media and more.
