Weather Alert: Wind Chill Advisory Until 10 AM Friday

The National Weather Service-Chicago has a winter weather advisory in place.

It's getting darned cold, so be careful out there.

Yes, just days after record-high temperatures and a flood watch, we've got a wind-chill advisory in place from midnight Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service-Chicago.

The wind chill values will get down to about 15 to 25 degrees below zero overnight Thursday, with a regular temperature of about 5 degrees.

The dangers, of course, are frostbite and hypothermia.

"IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS ... MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND
GLOVES," the NWS-C says in its usual all-caps.

Temperatures in Elmhurst will only reach 14 degrees Friday. That's 14 for a high, with a windchill as low as 17 below. In the evening, it's supposed to be 16 degrees with a windchill as low as zero. There is a 70 percent chance of snow overnight Friday, according to the weather service.

Saturday will be cloudy with a high near 26 degrees; the evening will be 12 degrees. Chance of snow, 40 percent.

Superbowl Sunday should hit 24 degrees, and by game's end, there will be a low of 17 degrees.
