Son of Reputed Mob Killer Frank Calabrese Sr. Scheduled to Speak at Elmhurst College Tuesday

Frank Calabrese Jr. is on a book tour, promoting his tome about growing up in a mob family.

Frank Calabrese Jr., son of convicted mob killer Frank Calabrese Sr., will appear at Elmhurst College tomorrow at 1 p.m. to discuss his new book, Operation Family Secrets: How a Mobster's Son and the FBI Brought Down Chicago's Murderous Crime Family.

The author was also supposed to appear at the Oak Brook Borders store later Tuesday evening, but according to the Sun Times, the store received a threatening voice mail message warning about "rats" signing books in the village. Borders, and Oak Brook Police Chief Tom Sheahan, are taking the threat seriously.

The junior Calabrese has a full calendar of book signings. He is known for becoming a federal witness against his father during the 2007 Family Secrets trial, which dealt a huge blow to organized crime in Chicago. The senior Calabrese, along with several other members of the mob, was sentenced to life in prison for multiple convictions, including murder.
