Roll Up Your Sleeves and Help Clean Up the Path

Volunteers are needed to keep the Prairie pristine.

Elmhurst Bike Task Force will lead a cleanup effort along the Elmhurst portion of the Illinois Prairie Path Saturday, April 23.  This all-volunteer effort is in its third  year and reflects community pride in our two multi-use trails. The other "jewel" is the Salt Creek Greenway Trail.

The clean up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.  All volunteers should come to the Old Train Depot (just east of York Road at the Prairie Path) at 9 a.m. for work area assignment.  Dress appropriately for the weather (volunteers work rain or shine). A pair of work gloves is recommended.  Parking is available in the municipal lot just south of the Depot, accessed off of Vallette Street.

The trails are owned by DuPage County, which in turn contracts for maintenance with the many communities through which the trails travel. Elmhurst Park District is responsible for the Elmhurst portion. The Park District will provide the trash bags and arrange to have them picked up when the work is finished.
