Relay for Life, Happening Today, Has Moved Indoors

Rain in the forecast led organizers to move the event from Berens Park to the York High School fieldhouse.

Elmhurst District 205 is opening the York High School Field House for Relay For Life of Elmhurst today, Saturday, June 18, due to forecasted inclement weather.

This move was done for the health and safety of all of our survivors and participants and out of respect and consideration for Berens Park.

York hosted the Relay For Life York All-Youth event a couple of years ago in the fieldhouse. The facility will not only keep participants warm and dry, it will offer many accommodations not available outdoors, like a sound system and bathrooms.

Team captains and participant are being asked to spread the word about the move indoors to the York fieldhouse.

Some things to consider:

  • There will be a parking attendant in the York High School drive that will direct participants in how to drop off overnight supplies and where to park.
  • Once participants enter the facility, they will be given an updated event map.
  • Tents are still welcome but no tent stakes.
  • Mylar Balloons only are allowed at York .
  • Grilled food will still be available: hamburgers, hot dogs and pulled pork BBQ.
