Reedemer Lutheran Kids Travel to Garfield Park to Help the Hungry

Their partnership with Mt. Sinai Baptist will continue through the rest of the year.

This summer, nearly 20 teens from Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elmhurst partnered with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Garfield Park to assist with their outreach to the hungry.

Mt. Sinai runs the Bread of Life Food Pantry, which serves more than 200 people each week, providing them with meat, dry goods and fresh produce.

Redeemer's youth group has given up two Saturday mornings to assist them in their effort to help the needy. The students package food, break down boxes, and sort through donations, all in an effort to provide food to the poor. These children hope to continue to partner with the food pantry and return to the Garfield Park location at least every other month through the end of 2012.
