FRIENDLY REMINDER: Parade Your Pet At the Spring Road Pet Parade

Decorate your bike and grab your pet for the 26th annual Spring Road Pet Parade on May 17.

If you missed Doggie Eggstravaganza, stop by the Spring Road Business Association and  Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce 26th annual Spring Road Pet Parade. All species of animals are invited to participate!

The parade steps at Spring Road and Vallette Street at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, and proceeds to Silverado Grill, so decorate your bike, grab your furry, feathered or scaly friend, and join the fun.

Before the parade, make sure to visit the Elmhurst Park District’s booth at Ahlgrim’s parking lot from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., where they’ll be giving away special doggie treats.

Ahlgrim’s parking lot at Vallette and Spring will also host a moon jump, bike decorating, face tattoos and pet portraits also from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All activities are FREE, but donations of nonperishable food items for the Yorkfield Food Pantry are gratefully accepted.

Ribbons will also be awarded to pets in the following categories, including:

  • Best stuffed pet
  • Most obedient pet
  • Best groomed pet
  • Best dressed pet
  • * Oldest pet
  • * What Makes Your Pet Special
  • * Most Original Pet Trick

Categories marked with an * must register before May 17.
