Multi-colored Mums Make a Visit to Wilder Park Conservatory Worthwhile

Enjoy the last blast of fall color before it's gone.

The conservatory at is in full fall flower. We typically like photos with people in them, but these bold beauties stand alone in representing the last burst of color before winter's gray landscape sets in.

The conservatory was built in 1923 for $7,000. Today, the city is planning a major and its two adjacent greenhouses, thanks to a state grant of nearly $2 million.

Visit the conservatory, 225 S. Prospect Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It features year-round displays.
