1. PORTFOLIO OPENING RECEPTION
Where/When: 1.-3 p.m. Saturday at , 150 S. Cottage Hill Ave.
Why Go: Portfolio is an that runs April 2-May 1, competition, and series of educational programs for high school seniors demonstrating commitment and competency in visual art.
Pricing: Free.

2. HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR
Where/When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Saturday at Courts Plus, 186 S. West Ave., Elmhurst
Why Go: It includes a blood drive, health screenings, giveaways and a chance to win one month's dues.
Pricing:  Free.

3. IMMANUEL LUTHERAN FUND-RAISER
Where/When: 6 p.m. Friday at , 15w468 Grand Ave, Elmhurst.
Why Go: The evening is everything '80s: Big hair, skinny ties, totally awesome.
Pricing: $35.

4. NICKEL AND DIMED
Where/When: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday  at Arena Theater, Jenks Hall, , 433 Howard St.
Why Go: Joan Holden’s adaptation of “,” based on the prize-winning investigative work of Barbara Ehrenriech, which explores what it means to eke out a living on minimum wage.
Pricing:  $9-$10.

5. CHICAGO GARGOYLE BRASS
Where/When: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at , 137 S. Garfield St.
Why Go: Bach and Mendelssohn performed by the with the choirs of Union Church and First Congressional of Elgin.
Pricing: Free.

I agree with you but I don't know if we as just citizen's can do anything to stop that practice. IRead More wish that each cyclist had to have a license, and that it was enforced by laws and police, on the bike so that people could report occurrences and have the person receive a ticket just like a person driving an auto. That would make sense.

I was really hoping that the Elmhurst Police would sound in on this info-I do understand kids willRead More be kids, but if one of them is hurt, that adult driver will need to live with that for the rest of their life-so let's come up with a solution for both bicyclist and cars to be in harmony. I really think that a step up in enforcement in the bicycle laws would help-just like the drunk driving laws-believe me the bicycle laws are just as important.
