Hundreds Attend the Easter Egg Hunt at Wilder Park

Recent storms left the ground plenty soggy, but that didn't deter youngsters from their mission.

It was the first sunny day in awhile—perfect conditions for Elmhurst youngsters taking part in the annual Easter egg hunt at Wilder Park. The event, sponsored by the Elmhurst Veterans of Foreign Wars, was held Saturday under sunny skies. Morning temperatures were in the 50s.

After a countdown, participants were out of the starting gate, and just a few minutes later every one of the plastic eggs spread throughout the park was accounted for.

The Easter Bunny made his rounds, handing out a few extra chocolate eggs as kids sorted through what they had gathered, while moms and dads snapped photos.
