Have Fun For a Good Cause and Good Health This Weekend

Carnival, skate board competition and Battle of the Bands also sure to be a blast.

It’s Thursday, and here are some ideas for activities to hit this weekend. Tell us what we missed in the comments.

1. ZUMBATHON
Where/When: Noon-1:30 p.m. Saturday at , 407 W Saint Charles Rd.
Why Go: Team EPD (Elmhurst Park District) will host an hour and a half of Zumba Fitness® fun in an effort to raise money for "Relay for Life" to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Cost: $10.

2. JAYCEES CARNIVAL
Where/When: 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday on Park Street just north of Elmhurst College
Why Go: Rides, games, prizes, food and fun is the order of business for this year's carnival. Proceeds will benefit lots of local organizations. The carnival will be open exclusively for special needs children from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Cost: Tickets sold per ride, or buy a Mega-pass for $60.

3. LAUGHING PROUD
Where/When: 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday at , 119 N. York St.
Why Go: The Elmhurst Professional Firefighters are hosting this fundraising , which includes six of the Chicagoland's funniest and brightest new comedians at each show. Proceeds from the event will go to help the Elmhurst Professional Firefighter's charities, MDA, and Relay for Life.
Cost: $15.

4. COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR
Where/When: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at , 111 W. North Ave.
Why Go: Services include school and sports physicals, immunizations, screening for diabetes, diabetes, high blood pressure, anemia, dental and vision. Also moon jump and children's games.
Cost: Free.

5. SKATE BOARD COMPETITION/BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Where/When: Skate Board Competition 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Battle of the Bands from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Skate Park at
Why Go: There will be several competitions, including half pipe, box/rail best trick, free skate and a game of SKATE in three age groups. Plus music all afternoon.
Cost: Free.
