Get Ready: Temperatures Drop, Snow Could Come Later This week

Get those winter coats and ice scrapers out.

Following a weekend of warmer temperatures and severe weather, get ready for a cool-down this week. Elmhurst residents could see rain and, possibly, snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Here is a detailed look at the weather forecast this week for Elmhurst: 

Tuesday: Sunny skies with a high near 45 degrees. Light and variable wind, 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon, with gust as high as 15 mph. A low of 34 degrees is forecast at night.
 
Wednesday: 20 percent chance of showers expected mainly after noon on Wednesday. Mostly cloudy skies with a high near 46 degrees and a south wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. At night, a 50 percent chance of showers and a low of 41 degrees. 

Thursday: 40 percent chance of showers during the day, cloudy and a high near 46. At night, a 50 percent chance of rain and snow, low around 37. 

Friday: A chance of rain and snow,cloudy with a high near 41. Chance of rain and snow Friday night with a low around 29. 

Saturday: Breezy and mostly sunny skies with a high near 32. Cloudy at night with a low of 16. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny skies with a high near 28, low around 21 at night.
