From Accordians to Zen Parenting, An Interesting Weekend Awaits

Don't miss Great Lakes Lab Rescue's annual event at Silverado, and Messiah Lutheran's Rummage Sale.

1. ACCORDIAN CONCERT
Where/When: 8 p.m. Saturday, at , 310 W. Butterfield Rd.
Why Go: The Chicago Club is dedicated to fans of accordions and accordion music everywhere. Membership is not required to attend, dress is casual and pizza is served. Doors open at 6 p.m., pre-meeting music is at 6:30 p.m., membership meeting is at 7:30 p.m. and the main act takes the stage at 8 p.m.
Cost: $10 for members, $13 for nonmembers

2. ALL-NIGHT FLEA MARKET
Where/When: 5 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m Sunday at , 2015 Manchester Rd, Wheaton
Why Go: Shop for in the middle of the night.

3. ROCKIN' FOR RESCUE
Where/When: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at , 447 S. Spring Rd.
Why go: Great Lakes Lab Rescue's features food, prizes and two bands. All proceeds benefit Great Lakes Lab Rescue, a 501(c) nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to the care of unwanted Labs.
Cost: $12 for adults, $7 for children under 12 on-line. Some tickets also available at the door.

4. SUMMER MUSIC CONCERT
Where/When: 3 p.m. Sunday at , 315 E. Saint Charles Rd.
Why Go: Cellist Russell Rolen, accompanied by pianist Jeffrey Panko, will Sonatas for Cello by Rachmaninoff and Barber.
Cost: Free-will offering

5. GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR INNER PARENT
Where/When: 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Essential Skin and Beauty, 112 S. York St.
Why Go: Join Zen Parenting Radio host, author, and Chicago Parent blogger Cathy Cassani Adams and her husband, Todd Adams, believe that those who take care of themselves make better parents. They discuss parenting and other life lessons on their internet radio show. Also, enjoy chair massages from Essential Skin & Beauty and snacks from and Amano Boucherie.
Cost: Free

6. MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH RUMMAGE AND BAKE SALE
Where/When:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at , 130 W. Butterfield Road
Why Go: You'll find something for everyone at this annual sale: toys, clothing, books, household items, tools, a brand new smoker, and even a few wedding dresses.
