From a Day in Ag-Ventureland to a Music Store Grand Re-opening

There's plenty to do this weekend.

Enjoy everything Elmhurst—and the DuPage County Fair—has to offer this weekend, from soccer and golf to magic and monster trucks. For more events, check out our calendar, and tell us what we missed in the comments.

1. LIVE MUSIC
Where/When: 4:30-6:60 p.m. Friday at , 122 W. Vallette St.
Why Go: The is being re-opened by new owner Laura Pearson. Her parents Fred and Lucretia Luscombe opened the store in 1975.
Cost: Free.

2.  PICKUP SOCCER AT BERENS PARK
Where/When:
7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Berens Park, 493 Oaklawn Ave., Elmhurst
Why go: Looking to kick a ball around? Come on out for pick up soccer on the Berens Park turf fields and enjoy a summer game under the lights. Games run every Friday until Aug. 12. This event is for participants ages 14 and up. 
Cost: $5 per person

3. SHOW OFF YOUR CHARACTER
Where/When: 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at , 500 E. Van Buren St., Villa Park
Why go: The Character Counts Golf Outing is a fund-raiser for the Character Counts in Elmhurst program.
Cost: $60 per person

4. AROUND THE WORLD IN 60 MINUTES
Where/When: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, , 125 S. Prospect Ave.
Why Go: Professional comedian and illusionist Chris McBrien will present folk tales, fun facts and magic from around the globe at this family event.
Cost: Free.

5. DUPAGE COUNTY FAIR
Where/When: 8 p.m. Saturday at DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 W. Manchester Rd., Wheaton.
Why Go: features a monster truck show on Saturday and demolition derby Sunday.
