Elvis and Captain Jack are Visiting Elmhurst This Weekend

And for those wanting to enjoy the weather, check out the bike rodeo, golf outing and Spring Road Green Fest.

It’s Thursday, and here are just some of the activities to check out this weekend and beyond. Tell us what we missed in the comments section below.

1. GOLF OUTING
Where/When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at , 500 E. Van Buren, Villa Park
Why Go: The deadline to sign up has passed, but there are still some spots available for this fund-raiser sponsored by the People for Elmhurst Parks Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst. Money raised will go to the recreation assistance fund for Elmhurst families facing financial hardship. The event includes nine holes of golf and lunch. Call (630) 993-8925.

2. CINDERELLA
Where/When: 8 a.m. Friday at McAninch Arts Center, , 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
Why Go: Von Heidecke's Chicago Festival Ballet's production of Prokofiev's 
Cost: $37; $35 for seniors, $27 for youth.

3. IDES OF MARCH
Where/When: 8 p.m. Saturday at North Central College Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville.
Why Go: The band toured with Led Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead. It was founded in 1965 in Berwyn by six grade school .
Cost: $25-$35.

4. ELVIS RETURNS
Where/When: 8:30 p.m. Friday at , 310 W. Butterfield Rd, Elmhurst.
Why Go: Bob West's to Elvis follows the American Legion Friday Night Fish Fry.
Cost: $10

5. MEET CAPTAIN JACK
Where/When: 6:30-9 p.m. Friday at , 150 N. York St.
Why Go: Along with the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Sparrow visits with a limited number of movie posters.

6. BIKE RODEO
Where/When: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Old Train Depot, at York and the Prairie Path.
Why Go: Elmhurst Park District's event will have activities for the whole family: a skills course with nine stations that will teach bike safety, bike registration with the Elmhurst Police Department, a helmet check, and small bike tune ups will be offered.
Cost: Free

7. GREEN FEST ON SPRING ROAD
Where/When: 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Cuvee Cellars, 545 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst
Why Go: We know it's not on the weekend, but we didn't want you to miss Elmhurst Newcomers Neighbors Club Green Fest. At this ladies night out, enjoy wine, be pampered, swap clothes and jewelry, and learn more about how to attain green living. 
Cost: Free

8. BENEFIT AUCTION
Where/When: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst
Why Go: Auction items include sports tickets, play tickets, gifts and household items, restaurant certificates, vacation getaways.
Cost: Admission is free
