Elmhurst St. Patrick's Day Parade Steps Off March 12

From leprechauns to bag pipes to the Shriners, Elmhurst's parade draws thousands.

The 15th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade w ill be held at noon Saturday, March 12. The parade steps off from Wilson Street and Spring Road, and will continue north on Spring Road.

The parade is ranked as the second largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the Chicago area. A record crowd is expected this year.

The parade will feature more than 80 floats, marching units and animated characters, along with local organizations, businesses and clubs. Entries also will include the Chicago Highlanders, precision marching groups, the York High School Marching Band and Medinah Shriner groups.

Bands will perform before the start of the parade at Ahlgrim Funeral Home at Vallette and Spring, at the Prairie Path and Spring Road and at McKinley and Spring Road.  Come early and enjoy the music.
