Best of Craigslist: 20-Year-Old Coke; Complete Tree House

Check out some of the most interesting posts we were able to find for the Elmhurst, Wheaton and Glen Ellyn area on Craigslist this past week.

The following items and postings were found on Craigslist for the Elmhurst, Wheaton and Glen Ellyn area. Note: Patch has no control over the status of these posts on Craigslist and how long they remain available.

20-Year-Old Coke

Thirsty? These Wheaton sellers have just the thing: Two 24-packs of Coke from the early 1990s—over 20 years old. Would it have gone flat by now? Would it kill you? Or would it still just taste like Coke? I have absolutely no idea. If you dare to find out, these two cases are going for $24 apiece, apparently a discount since they're valued at $5 a bottle.

Complete Tree House for Sale

At $499, this Glen Ellyn poster definitely thinks you're getting a discount on their excellent tree house, which looks like a little kid's dream (custom built, trap-door entrance, whole thing on stilts!) The catch, of course: You gotta figure out how to move the darn thing. Good luck!

No Coke, But So Many Bottle Caps

So maybe actual vintage liquid Coke isn't for you. How about bottle caps? Like, a lot of bottle caps? Someone in Elmhurst apparently has enough "Vintage Unused Plastic Lined Bottle Caps" ("CAPS" theirs) to sell them at $35 per 1,000. Start a collection, make a craft project, or just be rich in the Fallout universe, it's up to you.

Americana in Dagger Form

When someone bleeds red, white and blue, this must be the dagger they cut themselves with. An '80s tribute to General Patton and still in mint condition, this dagger is the perfect way to show your American pride as a decoration. Or perhaps to field-dress a deer with the appropriate spirit of Old Blood and Guts himself.

Still Need More Pokemans

Based on the picture supplied with this listing, I cannot possibly imagine that the poster really needs more Pokemon video games. I tried to count, but it looks like about 150 of first-generation cartridges alone. That's one for every original Pokemon! And the poster still wants more! Well, hey, if you have those old games and need to unload them, here's a great way to do so for cash.

Yarn Needed for Adorable Pets

Glen Ellyn's Comfort for Critters "desperately" needs yarn to make into blankets for these really, really cute animals.

"If you have one partial-skein or 100 new skeins, we'd love to put your yarn to good use!" they say.

Look at those eyes and try to resist forking over every skein you have. Then don't resist, 'cause they need it!
