Team Elmhurst U13 Girls Soccer Represents Illinois at Regionals

The Team Elmhurst U13 Girls Select travels to Overland Park, KS, on June 12 - 15 to represent the state of Illinois at the 2014 USYSA Region II Presidents Cup.  

There they will meet the best teams from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, and Missouri. The team is already off to a roaring start, beating Kentucky 3-0 on Thursday.

Team Elmhurst Select's state championship match was played in Plainfield, on June 1 against Crystal Lake Force Elite where the girls scored their final goal in the last ninety seconds of regulation time to win 3-2.

They succeeded in winning seven successive games against some of the top teams in the state over a six-week period to advance to the Regionals. 

"Making it to the regional level is a huge thing for a club/team that's community-based and doesn't pull players from all over the Chicagoland suburbs," Susan May said.

The team is currently in second place in the State Premiership Chicagoland Division of the IYSA and is coached by Karsten Roy. More information on TESC can be found at www.elmhurstsoccer.com.
