Let The Races Begin

The Prairie State Cycling Series got underway this weekend!  As you know, the Elmhurst stage of the event is this Friday the 19th at Wilder Park, and circles Elmhurst College.  This weekend, racers completed races in Kenosha WI and Crystal Lake, IL.  In a Patch article titled “The Russians are coming!”, we highlighted the international field of pros coming to the series.  We were right!  London-Olympian Evgeny Kovalev of Russia promptly showed his strength by winning stage one of the series in a furious sprint finish that suited his Olympic Track expertise.  In Crystal Lake on Sunday, a beautiful hot day greeted the racers, and Robert White of Wisconsin won the Pro Men’s race.  Who will be able to master the Elmhurst course as victor?  Come out to Elmhurst College and Wilder Park on July 19th to find out!   www.elmhurstcyclingclassic.com
