Grace Café Returns to Elmhurst Churches for 2013-14
Grace Café is pleased to announce its return to Elmhurst churches for a sixth year of providing free meals to members of the community. Started by a few Elmhurst congregations in 2008 as part of an ecumenical effort to meet a growing need as families and individuals were faced with increasing economic pressures, Grace Café has since expanded into a program that provides free meals two Monday nights a month from September through mid-May and involves 11 Elmhurst churches. Anyone who is hungry, struggling with a tight budget, or lonely and eager to share a meal with others is welcome at Grace Café. Serving begins at 5:00 pm and concludes at 6:30 pm. There is no charge to participate, and reservations are not needed. Host churches have found Grace Café to be a rewarding experience for guests and church members alike and hope to host even larger numbers of guests for dinner and conversation over the next nine months. For questions and more information contact First United Methodist Church at 630-834-2440.
