Music Director Stephen Alltop has announced a collection of audience-pleasing programs beginning on October 18, 2014, with "Concerto Night Gala!" featuring the talents of the three outstanding 2014 Stanger Young Artist Audition winners, who will each perform a concerto movement with the orchestra. Also on the program is Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra and Ronald LoPresti's Overture Jubilante, composed for the ESO thirty years ago. "Classical Perfection," with pianist Allen Chow playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 and orchestral performances of music by Brahms and Borodin, follows in November.  In January, "Visual Vivaldi" showcases the talents of violinist Garam Kim, the visual artistry of Ben Whitehouse, and J. S. Bach's Concerto for Two Violins performed by Rika Seko and Kathleen Carter.  March brings composers Ravel, Ibert and Ralph Vaughan Williams to the fore, and dancers from the DuPage Dance Academy and narrators from First Folio Theater Company will help enliven the sparkling score of Saint -Saéns' "Carnivals of the Animals," appealing to concertgoers of all ages. The season ends in May with two stunning masterpieces of French music:  Fauré's Requiem and Frank's Symphony in D minor.  Continuing the tradition of featuring local groups among its guest artists, the ESO will showcase the Elmhurst Choral Union and the Tower Chorale.
