Elmhurst Memorial expanding weekend, holiday Immediate Care hours

To meet an increase in demand, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare’s Immediate Care locations in Addison and Lombard are expanding their weekend and holiday hours effective January 5.

 

Both sites will be open 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays (they previously opened at 10 a.m.).  Weekday hours remain the same, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Elmhurst Memorial’s Addison Immediate Care is located in the Addison Health Center at 303 W. Lake St.  The Lombard Immediate Care is located in the Lombard Health Center at 130 S. Main St.

Immediate Care provides treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, including:

 

--Sore throats, earaches and sinus infections

--Colds and flu

--Low-grade fever

--Minor skin rashes and allergies

--Sprains, strains and fractures

--Minor back, joint or muscle pain

--Minor cuts, burns and abrasions

--Any other minor, but urgent, medical problem

 

No appointment is necessary, but patients are encouraged to follow up with their physician after an Immediate Care visit.  For more information, visit www.emhc.org/services/immediate-care.

 

If any of the following symptoms are present, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest Emergency Department:

 

--Difficulty breathing

--Chest pain

--Alteration in level of consciousness or mental status/behavior

--Severe allergic reaction that includes hives or throat swelling

--Profuse bleeding

--Inability to eat or drink

--Pain that cannot be controlled by over-the-counter medications, ice, etc.
