Dedicated Jackson Runners brave the cold to Run the Turkey Trot

The Jackson Elementary School running club is in its sixth year. The Jackson Running Club is still the most popular club at Jackson. The 2013 Fall session brought out over 100 runners that joined the club, which is the biggest session ever at Jackson.  During the fall session of running club the Jackson Runners trained for 8 weeks to prepare for the 30th running of the  Elmhurst Dan Gibbon's Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. What a gorgeous morning for these young runners. Jackson runners pictured at the start of the Turkey Trot are: Ryan, Simon, Garrett, Gage and Grace. Next week at School the Jackson Runners will receive a Turkey Charm for completing the Turkey Trot Run. Each week of training they receive a foot charm for every mile completed and all the runners who completed the Turkey Trot will proudly display their new Turkey Charm. The Jackson Runners are coached by George & Linda Bode, volunteers and proud Jackson parents. The kids are also thrilled when their principal Mr. Ryan Anderson comes out to run with them. Ryan Anderson, a runner himself, is so proud of his Jackson Runners. The Jackson Runners will get together again in the Spring for another 8 weeks of training and prepare for the Annie Ryan Race in May.
