Key players: York: Jack Heinle, Sr. G; Chris Klos, Sr. G; Stanley Roberts, Sr. G; Charlie Rose, Sr. G; Jayvon Thomas, Jr. G; Frank Toohey, Sr. F. Oak Park-River Forest: Simmie Cobbs Jr., Sr. G; Jason Gant, Sr. G; Malik Garrett, Sr. G; Javonni Harrell, Sr. F; Erick Locke, Sr. G.

Fast Facts: York’s dreams of an unbeaten run through the West Suburban Silver took a hit Tuesday with a 50-47 loss to Hinsdale Central, who is now tied atop the league standings with the Dukes. York will need to win this showdown with Oak Park-River Forest to keep league title hopes alive. The 6-foot-8 Toohey is headed to play at the Air Force Academy next year and is averaging 15 points and eight rebounds per game, all while sporting straight A’s in the classroom. The senior-dominated team is very balanced, with Roberts, Rose and Thomas all averaging around 10 points per game. York took Oak Park down 64-62 in the teams’ first match-up in January. OPRF had an infusion of talent come back to the program this season. Four players who started their high school days at OPRF before transferring out all came back in the last two years. Locke came back after a year at Brooks to become the Huskies’ leading scorer last year. Cobbs, who is committed to Indiana for football, spent time at Montini before returning this season. Harrell (Foreman) and Garrett (Mt. Carmel) both found their way back to Oak Park as well. The Huskies had some problems getting on the same page early in the conference season, but are shaping up to be the kind of team nobody wants to face in the postseason due to their abundance of talent.
