Key players: St. Patrick: Nicolas Coleman, Jr. G; Adrian Pierzchanowski, Jr. F; Duncan White, Jr. F. IC Catholic Prep: Clark Brinkman, Sr. F; Rhaushaun Epting, Soph. F; Jordan Rowell, Fr. F; Anthony Taylor, Sr. G.

Fast Facts: IC Catholic Prep, formerly known as Immaculate Conception, suffered its first conference loss of the season Tuesday, 74-67 to St. Francis. The Knights still had a chance to wrap up sole possession of the SCC Gold with a win over Marian Central Thursday. They won a share of the title, the third in a row for the program, on Feb. 7. Epting has emerged as a star as a sophomore, averaging 19.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Brinkman is also averaging in double figures (13.6 PPG). Rowell shows the potential to be a star down the road while seeing key minutes as a freshman. Taylor runs the point and is the team’s best on-ball defender. St. Patrick plays as tough a schedule as anybody around, and with no senior starters, it has taken its toll on the Shamrocks lately. St. Patrick ventured west of the city the past two weeks and suffered an ESCC loss to Benet and non-conference losses to Conant and West Aurora, all highly-regarded programs. Coleman is the catalyst for the Shamrocks. A creative point guard with great court vision and a fearless attitude, Coleman makes them go. Pierzchanowski and White are versatile, athletic forwards with upside. It doesn’t get any easier for the Shamrocks going into Saturday’s game, as Friday night features a trip to face Kentucky-bound Tyler Ulis and Marian Catholic.
