Blackhawks legend Stan Mikita and Congressman Mike Quigley visit Elmhurst YMCA Floor Hockey clinic!

On Monday August 5th the Chicago Blackhawks youth development crew, the StreetHawks, visited the Elmhurst YMCA to host a private floor hockey clinic.  Forty energetic kids worked on stick handling skills, team drills and scrimmages.

Alongside Illinois Congressman Mike Quigley, Chicago Blackhawks legend and NHL Hall of Famer Stan Mikita spoke to the kids and signed autographs. Stan Mikita was very generous and signed autographs for each kid attending the clinic. Congressman Quigley and the Blackhawks donated floor hockey sticks, balls, goalie gear and goals. The Elmhurst YMCA is excited to run Floor Hockey this Fall and utilize the equipment.  The Blackhawks and the NHL are proud sponsors of the StreetHawks hockey program.

The Elmhurst YMCA will be offering Floor Hockey clinics on Thursday afternoons beginning September 5th.  Eight-week clinics for 6-10 year olds will be from 4:30-5:15pm and 11-14 year olds will play from 5:20-6:05pm. Members can sign up now and non-members can sign up starting Monday, Aug. 12th.
