Auditions for Elmhurst Children's Theatre's Production of "Annie" Are Aug. 21

Leapin’ lizards! Elmhurst Children’s Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our Fall Show, Annie! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals with the iconic songs "Tomorrow" and "Hard-Knock Life.”


Auditions will be on Wednesday, August 21 starting at 6 p.m.They will be held at Field School, 295 Emroy Ave., Elmhurst. Callbacks are Thursday, August 22, 6 to 9:30 p.m. Please visit ECT’s website elmhurstchildrenstheatre.com to book an audition slot online. Walk-ins are welcome on audition night, just be prepared to wait for an available audition time. Performances will be October 18, 19 and 20. Children in fifth through eighth grade who live in Elmhurst or attend a school in Elmhurst are eligible to audition.


For your audition, prepare up to 32 bars of any song a cappella and a 30-60 second memorized monologue. Director Jason Sperling has suggested Monologues on the ECT website, or prepare one of your choosing. Pick pieces that show you off well, whether or not they are from Annie.

Please complete the Online Permission Form on the Audition Page of the ECT website before your audition. You’ll also find the attendance policy and expectations, the preliminary rehearsal schedule, and parent and cast member contracts for added insight into the ECT experience. Being part of a show is a terrific responsibility and a lots and lots of fun!
