Metropolitan Water Reclamation District to Host Vendor Fair Aug. 29

MWRD is hosting a vendor outreach fair Aug. 29 at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Chicago.

When it comes to doing business with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD), vendors can expect a fair process that affords all qualified business owners a chance to secure a contract and grow their businesses. The first step to doing business with the MWRD is to register as a potential vendor.

To make registration easier, MWRD staff are hosting a vendor outreach fair on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. to noon at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Gleacher Center, 450 North Cityfront Plaza Drive, Chicago.

“The Board of Commissioners continue to be strong advocates for the participation of minority business enterprises, women business enterprises and small business enterprises in our construction program,” said MWRD Vice President Barbara J. McGowan, chairman of the Affirmative Action Committee. “We strongly encourage owners of minority, women and small businesses to participate in this event.”

Walk-ins are welcome, but to maximize the services, participants are encouraged to download and complete an MWRD vendor application in advance.

In addition to the application, the MWRD’s new booklet, “A Quick Guide to Doing Business with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago,” can be found at www.mwrd.org.
