Other schools competing along with the host Hinsdale South were Chicago Latin, Palatine, Bradley-Bourbonnais, West Chicago and Bloomington High School.

York’s team depth helped the Dukes in the relays component of the Invite and vaulted them to the Invite championship. The Dukes placed first in the varsity 200 medley relay (Woolfe, P. Nolte, Brinkmeier, H. Nolte) with a winning time of 1:55.04, 200 freestyle relay (Sullivan, Carly Redmond, Brinkmeier, H. Nolte) in 1:43.54, and the varsity 400 freestyle relay (Sullivan, Marlott, H. Nolte, Woolfe) in 3:43.21. Meet points were also awarded for the first place finish of the JV 400 freestyle relay (Lydia Faber, Redmond, Pankau, Brinkmeier) with a winning time of 3:56.03. The JV 200 medley relay (Marlott, Jessica Sacksteder, Juliana Reinhofer, Brodt) tied for second, and the JV 200 freestyle relay (Marlott, Sacksteder, P. Notle, and Paige Jaeger) finished first as well.

Shannon Sullivan, who qualified for two individual events in the IHSA state meet the last two season, is already posting state qualifying times in both the 100 and 200 freestyle this season.

Swimmers at the Hinsdale South Invite were York seniors Anna Pankau, Carly Redmond, Shannon Sullivan and Jess Sacksteder; juniors Perri Brinkmeier, Hannah Nolte and Juliana Reinhofer; sophomores Allison Brodt, Sam Marlott, Jessica Wolfe and Paige Jaeger; and freshmen Lydia Faber and Paula Nolte. It is from this strong, overall depth that York hopes to produce IHSA state qualifying times for relays this fall.

York moves to the conference part of its season with dual meets against Glenbard West, Riverside-Brookfield and Downers Grove North over the next 12 days.

I agree with you but I don't know if we as just citizen's can do anything to stop that practice. IRead More wish that each cyclist had to have a license, and that it was enforced by laws and police, on the bike so that people could report occurrences and have the person receive a ticket just like a person driving an auto. That would make sense.

A couple of years ago, Villa Park installed "State Law- must stop for pedestrians" signsRead More on the roadways where the Great Western and Prairie Paths cross. I saw a big increase in path users barreling across the streets with no regard for the stop signs on the path.

I was really hoping that the Elmhurst Police would sound in on this info-I do understand kids willRead More be kids, but if one of them is hurt, that adult driver will need to live with that for the rest of their life-so let's come up with a solution for both bicyclist and cars to be in harmony. I really think that a step up in enforcement in the bicycle laws would help-just like the drunk driving laws-believe me the bicycle laws are just as important.
