Adoptable Pet of the Week: Humpty Dumpty!

Humpty Dumpty, a 4-year-old Doberman, didn't have a great fall but he did get hit by a car and lost his leg. He is looking for his forever home.

Information provided by Elmhurst Animal Care Center.

Humpty Dumpty has won the hearts of all of his caregivers, who say he has a wonderful personality despite all he's been through.

Humpty had to have his leg amputated after he was hit by a car in September. He had a broken pelvis, and the nerve damage to his back leg was not repairable. Swelling and trauma also caused limited mobility in his other back leg, and he was unable to urinate.

But look at him now! Humpty is doing well after surgery, he regained full bladder control and has learned to walk on three legs, although he is still adjusting to that.

This miracle dog needs to go to a good home that doesn't have more than two steps. He doesn't get along too well with cats, but he's good with other dogs and kids age 12 and older. He is obedient and requires low to moderate exercise.
