The open house is designed to give parents of Elmhurst and neighboring communities an opportunity to 'one stop shop' for summer recreational and educational programs for their children quickly and efficiently. There will be a wide variety of summer programs on hand, including both sleep away camps and local organizations. Camps serve students of all abilities, including special needs and gifted, as well as, all ages including elementary, middle and high school.

More About Sandburg Middle School
Sandburg Middle School is located at the eastern gateway to Elmhurst on St. Charles Road. Originally called Elmhurst Junior High School, Sandburg was renamed in 1960 to honor the American writer Carl Sandburg, who lived on York Street from 1919 to 1930. Sandburg spoke at the dedication of the school in 1960. Principal Amy Read leads the students, 94 percent of whom met or exceeded state testing standards in 2008-09.

We are going to have 80 camp present at the event. There will be lots of information from camps not being able to be at the event as well.

I am looking forward to this event! It is FREE, kids are welcome, and I will definately find some great things for my kids to do this summer!
