Elmhurst Academy of Early Learning, 212 Lake St., is holding an online art auction at www.biddingforgood.com until midnight of June 6. All proceeds go to the Child Abuse Prevention Fund and Elmhurst Academy Art Education. The auction features art in varying mediums by six artists.
Academy instructor and auction organizer Rachel Lechocki said of the fund-raising event, "I have gotten to know our students well and their interest and skills sparked me to reach out to some of my artist friends to ask for donations."
Elmhurst Patch cartoonist Charley Krebs, has contributed five "Cartoon And Poem" posters created with poet Steve Cesario of Naperville. Krebs and Cesario are former Cicero residents and lifelong friends who create their posters for charitable donations in memory of their friend and collaborator Sam Desio. Krebs' artwork has been featured twice at Elmhurst's Karen Solem Gallery. The former award-winning Elmhurst Press cartoonist also creates a monthly feature for Chicago Jazz Magazine.
