Metamorphosis Opens at The Mill Theatre Nov. 29

What does it mean for Gregor Samsa, his family, his life, when he wakes up one morning to find he has been transformed into a cockroach? Metamorphosis, a stage adaptation of Franz Kafka’s classic exploration of alienation, opens at the Elmhurst College Mill Theatre on November 29.
Steven Berkoff brings a unique physical style to his adaptation that combines mime, movement and text to create a highly stylized piece of theatre. Director Joel Huff takes full advantage of that in his production.
“As a professor, I wanted to explore physicality and movement with the students, and physical theatre, in a way they are not used to,” Huff said.
Metamorphosis will run from Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 29 through Dec. 1; and Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 6-8. All performances begin at 8 p.m.
