DESCRIPTION:Elmhurst Garden Club invites the community to spend a pleasan
 t  Sunday morning or afternoon exploring the horticultural delights crea
 ted  by the owners of the eight outstanding and unique gardens selected 
 for  its 17th annual Garden Walk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday\, July 8.
 &nbsp\; Elmhurst Garden Club members and garden advisors will be on hand
  to answer questions at the gardens.\n&ldquo\;This year&rsquo\;s walk pr
 omises to be a community event that should not be  missed. You will be s
 urprised by the creativity and beauty of these  outstanding gardens. The
  garden selection committee has\, once again\, put  together an educatio
 nal and inspiring collection of local gardens and  gardeners willing to 
 share their outdoor havens with the community\,&rdquo\;  said Norma Farr
 ell\, president.\nVisitors will begin the garden walk by obtaining a gar
 den guide at  Wilder Park.&nbsp\;Visitors may also enjoy exploring Wilde
 r Park and its  conservatory and award-winning herb garden\, which will 
 feature Chinese  herbs this year.&nbsp\;\nFrom 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Fai
 re\, featuring booths with  varied and unique items\, will be held in th
 e park and an art exhibit  will take place in historic Wilder Mansion.&n
 bsp\;A deli-style lunch will be  available in Wilder Mansion from 11 a.m
 . to 1:00 p.m.&nbsp\;Tickets for the  Walk may be purchased in advance o

 ;\nThe Garden Walk is the major fund-raiser to finance the Club's  Mildr
 ed Hartney College Scholarship Fund\, named in honor of a long-time  Gar
 den Club member who wanted to encourage students to study  horticulture.
  In addition\, proceeds have been and will continue to be  used to suppo
 rt other community projects\, including horticultural and  conservation 
 projects at Elmhurst District 205 schools\, Elmhurst  College Arboretum\
 , Elmhurst Park District\, Churchville School House\,  Elmhurst Public L
 ibrary and YMCA Children's Summer Camp scholarships.\n&ldquo\;The Elmhur
 st Garden Club has donated more than$170\,000 from Garden  Walk proceeds
  since the inception of the event 17 years ago\, including  thousands of
  dollars in scholarship money each year to worthy  recipients.&nbsp\;App
