Donor Milk: The Documentary
York Theatre, 150 N York St, Elmhurst, IL | Get Directions »
$25.00
Donor Milk: the Documentary highlights the benefits of donated breastmilk, not just for the recipient of the milk, but also for the mothers providing the milk. The documentary recounts the stories of real families, including screenwriter and filmmaker Kevin West and his wife’s tragedy of losing their baby late in term. His wife was able to cope with the loss by donating her breastmilk to sick and preterm babies in need. Based on their experiences, West wrote and directed the film with co-producer Jarred King. Medela, Inc is sponsoring the screening and providing continuing education credits to health care professional attendees. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mother's Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes.
There will also be a one-hour Q&A session and reception featuring filmmaker Jarred King, Jennifer Anderson and Summer Cassidy of the Mothers’ Milk of the Western Great Lakes, neonatologists as well as a donor of breastmilk and recipient of donor milk.

More About York Theatre
Located in downtown Elmhurst, York Theater is in the middle of a busy shopping and dining area. The clear lights and red background that surround the movie house sign give it the feeling of earlier times. Even the attendants wear blazers and bow ties. However, what's current are the movies shown in the nine rooms here.
