DESCRIPTION:Bethel United Church of Christ begins its fall Christian educ
 ation program on Sunday\, September 11\, at 10:00 am with an exciting Ra
 lly Day celebration. Worship will include songs and stories to engage th
 e children and youth\, followed by a picnic on the church lawn.&nbsp\; F
 un with crafts and games as well as great food and the highly-anticipate
 d water balloon games for both children and adults will cap the celebrat
 ory morning of worship and fellowship.\nEach week Bethel provides varied
  opportunities for children to grow on their faith journeys through Pock
 etful of Promises and Breakfast Club.&nbsp\; Pocketful of Promises\, for
  pre-K through 5th graders\, begins with the children in attendance at w
 orship for music\, fellowship and a children&rsquo\;s sermon.&nbsp\; The
 y then join their teachers to explore and learn as individuals and as a 
 community through games\, art\, music and science\, which bring Bible st
 ories to life.&nbsp\; Those in 6th-8th grades attend Breakfast Club for 
 faith formation and fellowship.&nbsp\; This active group also participat
 es in service-oriented and social activities.&nbsp\; For those 3 years o
 f age and younger\, loving child care is provided by experienced high sc
 hool students.\nForms for registration and enrollment are now available 
 on the Bethel website\, www.bethel-ucc.org.&nbsp\; Classes are held each
  Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:15 am\, beginning September 11 and running t
 hrough May 27\, 2012\, and are taught by teams of adult church members.&

 in senior high\, is a service-oriented group looking for opportunities t
 o further serve the Elmhurst community. BYF members have been involved i
 n numerous service projects around the country\, and their Teen Fellowsh
 ip Program would like to share members&rsquo\; talents\, time and labor 
 to help those with needs.&nbsp\; Anyone looking for assistance with smal
 l projects or who knows a family or group that might use help from Bethe
 l youth\, or those with suggestions of ways to support our town are welc

 el-ucc.org.\nConfirmation class for those in 8th grade begins the week o
 f October 11 and will end on Confirmation Sunday\, April 1\, 2012.&nbsp\
 ; This study of the Christian faith\, life and community prepares young 
 people for membership in the church.&nbsp\; In addition to weekly classe
 s the students will also enjoy a series of field trips\, retreats\, and 
 activities with interesting congregations of both the Christian faith an
 d other faiths.&nbsp\; Rev. Gordon Smith\, Interim Senior Minister\, wil
 l teach the class.\nYoung people are also invited to participate in yout
 h bell choir for those in grades 5 through 12 and children&rsquo\;s choi
