Brookfield, IL - York Girls Swimming and Diving ended a great week of competition with a runaway win over Riverside-Brookfield Thursday at Riverside-Brookfield HS. The varsity highlight was a victorious 122 to 58 score in the away dual. The meet ended with a 400 freestyle relay performance that put the final stamp on outcome. York – (Sr) Shannon Sullivan (54.58), (So) Jessica Wolfe (56.23), (Jr) Perri Brinkmeier (57.81) (So) Sam Marlott (59.51) 3:48.13. York started the week with their twelve-team championship triumph at the Hinsdale South Invite.
In the York, Riverside-Brookfield HS meet the individual varsity event winning results were:
50 freestyle: (Jr.) Brinkmeier (York) 26.19; 200 medley: (Jr) Hannah Nolte (York) 2:16.30; diving: (So) Leah Young (York); 100 butterfly: (Sr) Sullivan (York) 1:02.99; 100 freestyle: (Jr) H. Nolte (York) 55.62; 500 freestyle: (So) Allison Brodt (York) 5:38.28; 100 backstroke: (So) Woolfe (York) 1:02.29; 100 breaststroke: (Fr) Paula Nolte (York) 1:13.55.
In fact, York swept the 100 backstroke winning the first three spots with Anna Pankau and Marlott going second and third. York also took the top three spots in the 500 freestyle with Pankau and Paige Jaeger completing the sweep. York also swept the 200 medley with P. Nolte and Abby Riehs placing two and three. York captured the first two spots in the 100 breaststroke with Juliana Reinhofer taking second. Carly Redmond finished third in the 50 freestyle.
York’s relay teams got the away meet off to an impressive start with a winning time 1:58.68 in the 200 medley relay by H. Nolte, P. Nolte, Sullivan and Woolfe. The Dukes took the top two spots in the diving competition with Anna Kirschbaum taking second. And the 200 freestyle relay posted a winning time of 1:43.37 York – (Sr) Sullivan (25.71), (Jr) H. Nolte (25.94) (So) Woolfe (25.91), (Jr) Brinkmeier (25.81)
York continues West Suburban Conference Silver action Thursday at Downers Grove North.
