September Brings New Assortment of Local Produce into Season at the Villa Park French Market

As summer winds down, a slew of garden-fresh produce comes into season. Radicchio, plums, winter squash and turnips are some vegetables that are harvested fresh in September. Other end of summer crops includes apples, Asian pears, and peaches. The Villa Park French Market (on Park Blvd. west side of Ardmore Ave.) provides consumers a convenient choice to buy the season’s ripest produce in their Sunday market.

The Villa Park French Market continues to bring shoppers a diverse array of locally produced products. Andres Acres (West Chicago) offers dried and fresh flowers, vases and more. The Lil’ Mad Café Gourmet Shop based in Westmont produces granola, Focaccia and other baked goods. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays through October 28 and is accessible on Park Blvd. through the Prairie Path.
