Woman Calls Police After Man Stares at Her, Follows Her Home
Elmhurst police also report arrests for DUI and driving on a suspended license, and thefts from home and church.
A woman called 911 around 1:25 a.m. on Dec. 27 after a man in his mid- to late-20s reportedly was staring at her in a restaurant drive-through in the 100 block of East Butterfield Road. She said the man pulled up next to and behind her car without reason, and then followed her home. She called police because she didn’t feel safe. The man had brown hair and was wearing a yellow sweater.
Thomas R. Reich, 49, of Addison, was charged with driving under the influence, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, parking in traffic and no insurance after police received a report of an unconscious driver behind the wheel of an Oldsmobile around 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 27 in the 100 block of York Road. He was later released on bond.
Driving With a Suspended License
Arturo Hernandez, 38, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license, no insurance and disobeying a traffic control device after a traffic stop around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 near Third and Glenview. Hernandez was released on bond.
Tyrone P. Lewis, 42, of Broadview, was charged with driving with a suspended license, no insurance and improper lane use after a traffic stop in the area of Lake Street and Oaklawn Avenue around 9 p.m. on Dec. 27.
Someone took a chainsaw valued at $450 from the 100 block of E. Grantley between Nov. 22 and Dec. 10. Police have no suspects, and no forced entry was found at the home where the chainsaw was stored.
Someone took six steel grates covering windows at First Baptist Church, 343 S. York Road, between Dec. 24 and Dec. 26. The grates had an estimated value of $2,000. Police have no suspects.
