With Everything From Rock to Opera for Adults and Other Events for Kids, There's Plenty to do This Weekend
It's a big weekend for basketball, too.
1. See and hear Off the Record
Enjoy an all-ages show of old-time rock and roll at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the American Legion Hall, 310 W. Butterfield Road.
2. Middle School Friday nights
Teens, there is something to do on Friday nights this winter! Middle School Dances, Open Gymnastics and Open Gym (basketball/volleyball) will be held on Friday nights from January through March at Wagner Community Center, and all teens ages 11-14 are invited to attend. Download the schedule here.
3. Lots of basketball
York boys and girls play this weekend, a Timothy Christian coach will be honored and IC plays at Loyola.
4. Visit the Anne Frank Exhibit Open House
From 1-4 p.m. Sunday, preview the exhibit, "Anne Frank: A History for Today," which opens Feb. 2 at the Historical Museum, 120 E. Park Ave., , and participate in a community diary project. View a documentary, "The Short Life of Anne Frank," at 2 p.m. in the Education Center, and join in a discussion led by an educator from the Anne Frank Center USA. Ages 10+ with parental discretion.
5. Try some Wagner
The Lyric Opera lecture series at the Elmhurst Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave., focuses on Lohengrin, by Richard Wagner, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
