One of the best things about living in Elmhurst is all the options that exist for fun on the weekends. Between musuem exhibits, parks, concerts and theater, it's not hard to find something to do. What/Where: Gourmet Club Last Bash, 7 p.m. Saturday, Clarion Waterford Banquet and Conference Center, 933 S. Riverside Drive
Why Go: This is a benefit for the Martich family of Elmhurst. Amy Martich tragically lost her life during the New York Triathlon in August 2011. Sponsored by Elmhurst Newcomers and Neighbors, the event will feature Mexican-themed desserts from the Gourmet Club, silent auction, open beer and wine bar. "The Taco Guy," will prepare specialty tacos on site.
Cost: $45 for ENNC members, $55 for nonmembers

What/Where: Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra's Salute to Broadway, 8 p.m. Saturday, Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton
Why Go: Enjoy favorites from Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Les Miserables, Liberty Bell and Carousel. Bring lawn chairs and picnics.

What/Where: Sweet Home Extravaganza, 1 p.m. Sunday at Elmhurst Historical Museum, 120 E. Park Ave.
Why Go: Award-winning musician and children’s author Jim Gill, a cool exhibit of Chicago's candy history, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Fannie May treats, games and activities. Enter to win a free tour for 10 of the Ferrara Pan Candy factory.
Cost: Free

What/Where: Sports Safety Sunday with Matt Forte, 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road
Why Go: Chicago Bears star, Matt Forte, will speak about the injury prevention and the importance of safety equipment and will then sign autographs.
Cost: Free, but registration is required.

What/Where: Skate for a Cause, 4 p.m. Sunday at Edge Ice Arena, 735 Jefferson St., Bensenville
Why Go: A skate-a-thon fund-raiser for the Annie Ryan Fun Run's beneficiary, the Midwest Children's Brain Tumor Center at Lutheran General in Park Ridge
