We Saw Santa Friday Night. The Real One.
City Centre tree lighting Friday also included jazzy Christmas carols, hot chocolate and dancing in the streets.
Christmas carols echoed through town Friday night, beckoning families to the municipal plaza on First Street. It was warm out, about 52 degrees, but the hot chocolate was flowing, nonetheless, and little kids were dancing to the music as they eagerly awaited the arrival of Santa.
An Elmhurst College jazz ensemble set the tone for this holiday kickoff, and Mayor Pete DiCianni introduced Santa, who rolled in on an Elmhurst fire truck and was mobbed by local kids.
The Spring Road tree lighting was held Nov. 18, and there are two more in town. Next up, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital tree lighting is Wednesday, Nov. 30, and the Wilder Park tree lighting is Thursday, Dec. 1.
