Two Home Burglaries Discovered in Elmhurst Wednesday
Residents came home to discover their bedrooms ransacked.
Two residential burglaries were discovered in Elmhurst on Thursday, Jan. 3.
A home on the 100 block of North Evergreen Avenue was burglarized between 7 a.m. Dec. 29 and 8:53 a.m. Thursday, according to Elmhurst police.
A brick was thrown through the back glass door to gain access to the home, police said. Two upstairs bedrooms were ransacked, but at the time of the report it was unknown what was taken.
Another home, on the 800 block of Parkside, also was broken into between 6:26 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3.
The victims told police that when they returned home, they noticed their bedroom light was on. Upon entering the home, they noticed the rear door jam was broken away from the door. The master bedroom was ransacked, and $1,000 was missing from a ledge next to the bedroom window. It was unknown at the time of the report if any other items were missing.
Police said they have no suspects.
